First time subjects often have questions before they sit down in front of the camera. In this section, you’ll find some of the most common ones, as well as what you can expect when it comes time to sit down and flash your pearly whites.
Where will the pictures be taken?
Ideally I prefer to shoot all photos in your natural environment: your home, your backyard, your favorite park…places where you feel comfortable. The pictures won’t really be staged either, as we’re going to try and capture those unexpected moments between you and those you love.
How will the session work? We’ll have anywhere between a half hour to two and a half hours together and can go to several locations in that amount of time. The session won’t necessarily be structured, but much more casual and flowing. Think of me as the paparazzi as you carry on with your day.
What should we wear? You’ll be able to have a few clothing changes as we go, but for the most part just keep it simple, less is more. The pictures are supposed to be about you, so no wild prints or anything that will distract from that. An accent piece is sometimes fun to add to various shots, such as a favorite hat or a fun pair of socks. Just be yourself and don’t stress over the details.
What happens after the session? Photographs from your session will be posted within 14 days and are viewable by clicking the "proofs" tab. You will be sent an email with a password to log in once your proofs are available. A variety of the best shots taken during our session will be posted. You will then be able to place your order and utilize your $100 print credit from the overall session fee.
*Print credit must be used within 60 days of proof posting. Why should I choose you instead of a regular portrait studio chain? Having a private session with a photographer has a multitude of benefits that a chain studio cannot provide. You will have my undivided attention for the duration of our session. I will not be rushing you through a series of canned poses so I can get to my next client. This will be just us in the places that you feel most at home. Being able to travel from one location to another will allow you to cherish not only the people in the pictures, but also the places they were taken. Most importantly having a private session will allow you to relax and enjoy the time we spend capturing your memories.
What’s the difference between a professional photographer like you and someone with a digital camera like myself? Can’t I just take my own pictures? Like with every profession having training, skill and a background in the field are going to make the results more desirable. Photography is my passion and I’ve been doing it for over half of my life. It’s like having a top of the line set of pots and pans, just because you own them doesn’t necessarily make you a chef.
